Privacy policy

FounderWorld is run by the FounderWorld team. This page explains what we collect when you use it, why, who can see it, and how to get it deleted. We do not sell your information, show ads, or use tracking or analytics tools.

What we collect

• Your account: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our database provider). Your email is never shown to other people.
• Your profile: display name, username, bio, skills, what you are working on and looking for, and how your avatar looks. These are public.
• What you post: startups, their logos and screenshots, Talent board cards, events, beta missions, test results, bug reports and ratings. Published startups and open missions are public; drafts are visible only to you and your team.
• Messages: private messages, connection requests and waves between you and other members, and your office's team chat, tasks and meetings. Only the people in the conversation or office can read them.
• Room chat: what you type in a room's chat is sent live to the people in that room and is not stored. If someone reports you, the lines they could see are attached to the report.
• Calls: when you join a meeting table or a theater stage, your microphone, camera or shared screen is sent live to the people in that call. Calls are not recorded.
• Activity: your position and avatar in a room while you are in it (not stored), focus sessions you complete, and, inside a team office, the hours you are online at work so your team can see activity. Office activity is deleted after 90 days. You can appear offline to your team.
• On your device: your browser keeps your sign-in session and a few preferences (such as theme and graphics quality) in local storage. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

Only to run FounderWorld: to sign you in, show your profile and work to others as you choose, deliver messages and calls, keep the town safe, and fix problems. We do not use your data for advertising.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of providers to run the service, and they process data only on our behalf:

• Supabase, for accounts, the database and uploaded images.
• LiveKit, for voice, video and screen sharing in calls.
• Our hosting provider, for serving the website and the multiplayer rooms.

We share information with others only if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.

Safety and reports

When you report someone or something, our moderators see your report, what you reported and who sent it. The person you report is not told who reported them. Blocking someone is private too.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. Office activity is deleted after 90 days. When you delete your account, your profile, startups you own, messages, memberships, missions and credits are deleted straight away; reports others made about you may be kept so moderators can keep the town safe.

Your choices and rights

• Edit your profile any time in your settings.
• Delete your account and its data in Account and privacy.
• Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or anything else about your information by contacting us at your account settings.

Depending on where you live (for example in the EU or UK), you may also have the right to object to processing or to complain to your data protection authority.

Age

FounderWorld is for people aged 16 and over. If you believe a younger person has an account, please report it or contact us.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and let members know in the app.
